Ms. Janette Bondin – Grad Dip Phys MCSP SRP
Qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from the Wolverhampton School of Physiotherapy, UK in 1979.
She was employed by Wolverhampton Health Authority from 1979 to 1989 where she gained experience in all clinical specialities. In 1981 she was appointed Head of physiotherapy for Acute Geriatric (60+) rehabilitation services and the Young Disabled Unit at New Cross Hospital by WHA – a management post with clinical responsibilities.
She was also a member of the commissioning committee for West Park rehabilitation unit. In 1989 she came to Malta where she gained further clinical expertise in Burns and Plastics, General and Neurosurgery, Cardiac and Cardiothoracic Surgery and Renal Transplant surgery at St Lukes Hospital.
In 1996, following a stint at St Vincent de Paule residence for the Elderly, she was appointed Superintendent Physiotherapist at Capua Palace Hospital (which later became Saint James Hospital Sliema).
In this role she was responsible for setting up and developing the current in patient and outpatient physiotherapy services. Although she has a broad clinical experience, her area of specific clinical interest is the treatment of neurological conditions, especially stroke , and she is a Bobath trained physiotherapist.
